TEHRAN – Iran on Thursday exported 300 tractors to Venezuela, a report by manufacturing company said here on Friday.

Urmia Tractor Manufacturing Co. this year (Iranian year starts March 21) has produced 1,000 tractors 300 of which was exported to Venezuela, the farm machinery were valued at about 2.5 million dollars, the company’s director said.

Also, a number of Iranian experts would be dispatched to the Latin American country for technical support and training purposes in this regard, the Persian service of Iranian Students News Agency ISNA quoted the official as saying. The company is expected to produce 1,500 tractors in the next year, 500 of which are slated for export noted Shahram Sefidian adding, “Negotiations aimed at the export of the products to Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Pakistan ad Azerbaijan Republic are underway. We have already exported 10 tractors to Syria and have concluded a contract with Azeri officials to set up an assembly line in the Republic of Azerbaijan.”

Reasonable prices as well as good quality have been cited as the reasons for foreign countries’ demand for the Iranian-made tractors he said adding, the prices of Iranian tractors are as low as 50 percent of those offered at the world markets. RA/MA END MNA
